Do you find yourself wondering if you have a “problem” with weed or alcohol?

  • you don’t want to stop using but maybe there is room to reduce

  • noticing you want or even need a drink or smoke before bed or stressful events

  • your use has increased over time or need more substance to feel the effects

  • worsening symptoms of anxiety and depression

  • your loved ones have expressed concern around your use

“The goal isn’t to be sober. The goal is to love yourself so much that you don’t need to use.” – Anonymous

How I can help

I practice substance use treatment from a harm reduction, de-pathologizing perspective. I do not require abstinence to be in therapy with me. Harm reduction acknowledges that while not everyone is ready or able to stop using substances entirely, there are practical and compassionate ways to minimize the negative consequences and support individuals on their journey toward improved health and well-being. Drinking or using weed is often an effective coping strategy for painful emotions, trauma, and stressful life events. It makes sense that would be really really hard to give that up! I follow your lead. That may look like complete abstinence, moderation management, or harm reduction. Let’s start from a place of curiosity. What would it look like if you used less?

Therapy for addiction can help you…

  • Reduce or stop use

  • Improve relationships, work, school…etc

  • Learn to cope with stressors without drugs or alcohol

  • Address underlying issues such as trauma or anxiety

“What progress, you ask, have I made? I have begun to be a friend to myself.” – Hecato
